MWFPA Food Safety & Sanitation Summit Delivers Practical Insights for Food Manufacturers

Food safety professionals from across the Midwest gathered in Plover, Wisconsin, on April 9 for the Midwest Food Products Association's 2026 Food Safety & Sanitation Summit. The annual event brought together industry leaders, regulatory officials, and food manufacturing professionals for a day focused on food safety, sanitation, regulatory updates, and best practices designed to help companies strengthen their operations and food safety culture.

The Summit featured presentations from a diverse group of industry experts covering topics ranging from sanitation chemistry and environmental monitoring to facility design and contamination prevention. Attendees gained practical insights they could immediately apply within their facilities while also connecting with peers facing many of the same challenges across the food manufacturing industry.

A highlight of the program was a regulatory panel discussion featuring representatives from the Minnesota Department of Agriculture and the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection. The discussion provided attendees with valuable perspectives on current regulatory trends, inspection practices, and the importance of collaboration between industry and regulators to support safe food production.
