The Midwest Food Products Association is YOUR Advocate

The Midwest Food Products Association (MWFPA) serves as the voice for the food manufacturing industry through an active lobbying and advocacy program. The Association works directly in Illinois, Minnesota, and Wisconsin, engaging policymakers and regulators on a broad range of issues critical to food manufacturers.

Priorities include:

MWFPA advocates both independently and in coordination with trusted, state-based partners to ensure the industry’s perspective is clearly understood and effectively represented at every level of government. This collaborative approach strengthens the industry’s influence and allows the Association to respond quickly to evolving policy challenges. As part of the organization’s advocacy, MWFPA closely monitors rulemaking, proposed and enacted legislation, and key court decisions that may impact food manufacturers, keeping members informed and prepared to adapt.

At the federal level, the Association works closely with the American Fruit & Vegetable Coalition and the Consumer Brands Association to advance shared policy priorities. These partnerships include participation in annual Washington, DC Fly-Ins, where members and staff meet directly with lawmakers and federal agencies to advocate for industry-led solutions. Members also have the opportunity to serve on legislative and regulatory committees, helping shape advocacy priorities and ensuring the Association’s efforts reflect real-world industry needs and challenges.
